Parrot Noise

Here you can see two Scarlet Macaws, as you watch they start to scream. It is loud now, but I was standing almost 100 feet away from them. So, you can multiply that buy probably 20 and think about it in your livingroom. How would your neighbors like that? This is something you must consider before considering a large parrot. Many parrots are surrendered due to their noise level.

 The Louder Species!!!

This is the vocalization of a Green Wing Macaw.

Red Front Macaw vocalization.

This is a great example of a very cute Yellow Naped Amazon talking and then screaming! Many people get birds because they talk, not realizing that they also scream!

Citron Cockatoo screaming.

The Quieter Species

(keep in mind that every bird is different!)

Cockatiels are a quieter species but I have come across some fairly loud cockatiels but generally they are not extremely loud.

Green Cheek Conures are also among the quieter conures, they usually do not scream as frequently and they are not as loud as the large conures such as the Sun Conure, Mitred Conure or Patagonian Conures.
