Meet our Volunteers!
The Bird Nerds Rescue/Sanctuary is made of wonderful fosters and volunteers that keep the rescue going. Our rescue could not be run by one individual; it is made up of many great people with big hearts to help so many rescue birds in need. Thank you to all of the great people who open their homes and hearts to help the birds.

Connie
Facility Manager/Volunteer Coordinator

Connie and her family have a love for birds. Connie has adopted a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo (featured above) named Spike, Quaker (Johnny ) and a Cockatiel (Tulip), Cockatiel (Whistling Willy), Quaker and Sun Conure pair (Paulie & Gabby). Connie and her sons make bird toys for the rescue birds. Connie schedules volunteers to come help clean cages and feed and water at our new facility. She also organizes much of the business aspect of the rescue such as meetings, bill, scheduling etc. Her husband Danny does much of the "handy man" things, such as constructing our indoor and outdoor aviaries!
Mandy & Family
Foster/Volunteer

Mandy and her family have been wonderful. Mandy and her girls are hard workers and love to come feed, clean and water. They want to do anything to help the birds. They are fostering Jocko our cockatiel with cancer who is in our Sanctuary, they were very excited to be able to give Jocko love for however long she may be here. Mandy and her family have also adopted a Blue Quaker (Hatchi), and each of her girls have a rescue bird. They adopted a Jenday Conure (Sunny), a Green Cheek Conure (Tae), and also a Cockatiel (Cher).
Russel M.
Volunteer
Russel is a wonderful volunteer and also a hard worker. He is fun to work with and a big help to the rescue. Russel and his wife adopted their Quaker (Cory) and they have a lot of fun with him. He met us when his Veterinary Technician class came in to learn how to restrain, and groom birds. Now as a Veterinary Technician student he comes in to help restrain birds for grooming.
