If more rescues would work together then more would be accomplished and possibly more animals adopted. We are all rescues here to help animals. Listed below, are some of the rescues that I have contacted in Ohio and Michigan as well as Georgia and Indiana. This is Tiki, an Umbrella Cockatoo who is residing in our sanctuary. We are working on rehabilitation from severe psychological trauma. Tiki was locked away in a closet for 8+ years constantly screaming for attention and pulling out his feathers from, frustration, boredom, lack of light, terrible diet and that is just the beginning. His skin is very dry due to being next to a washer and dryer constantly blowing out dry air. His cage was way to small for his species and he was generally lacking the love and attention that all Too's thrive on.
Tiki is on his way to recovery, taking baby steps, but making progress everyday. He is no longer trustful of humans for good reason. He will take a lot of work to get back on track but we are confident that he will heal from his past neglect.

M. C Birds and Exotics Rescue/Sanctuary
This rescue is also a great rescue. Crystal takes in Birds and Exotics from all over Michigan and surrounding. She is very educated with many different species of parrots and exotics. Crystal specializes in Avian Nutrition, her birds are on a nearly all fresh diet! Go Crystal!! If she can not help you out she will find somebody who can. She is very experienced with all species.

A.B.C.R. is just a small group, able to provide a wonderful place where most 'non-placable' birds get to go live out their lives in a Sanctuary setting. A.B.C.R. only takes in what they can handle at one time. 
Michelle runs a small in home sanctuary for birds that are older, unadoptable, or need a forever placement where birds can live out the rest of there lives. Michelle is a great and has taken in many sad and emergency cases. She can take in anything from Parakeets to Conures and similar size birds.
Indiana
Exotic Parrot Rescue & Sanctuary of Indiana & surrounding States!
This rescue uses a lot of their animals to educate people by bringing them to schools and other events. This is great because many people don't think that the little foot long boa at the pet store could one day grow large enough to eat a small child.

Lara is a wonderful lady who rehabs birds of prey for another rescue. She teaches the necessary skills to be released back into the wild, or to be part of the Ed. Dept.
Lara has birds of her own and a wonderful area for her birds to fly. She works with and understands avian behavior and she gives bird behavior consultations to help other people understand their bird's behavior and work through possible behavioral problems.
